As a mother of three children with diverse learning needs, Liza's vision for TeachMe,LB is rooted in both professional expertise and lived experience. As a certified teacher and fitness instructor, Liza has extensive experience designing inclusive programs for people of all ages and abilities.

In her role as President, Liza provides direction, program oversight, mission leadership and growth while ensuring its values and integrity remain at the heart of all it does.

Alison brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance, having worked with a wide range of organizations across multiple sectors. Her professional background includes building and supporting sound financial systems that promote transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Katie Minott
Director of Community Connections & Fundraising
Katie is a Naperville-based real estate professional with a deep commitment to community service and nonprofit engagement. She brings more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and volunteer coordination, with a focus on building strong, sustainable partnerships.

​Katie supports community partnerships, development, and fundraising efforts, helping strengthen local connections, mobilize resources, and expand opportunities that advance the organization’s mission.
Rachel Scharafin
Director of Family Advocacy & Belonging
Rachel is a full-time mother of three and a dedicated advocate for individuals with special needs and autism. Through both personal experience and advocacy, she works to broaden understanding and foster greater awareness of the diverse ways children learn, grow, and experience the world.

Rachel brings the essential perspective of families, helping ensure the organization’s programs reflect inclusion, dignity, and a deep respect for individual differences.
Dave Schramm
Board Member at Large
Dave is a father to three children, including his son Micah who has Down syndrome. He and his wife Liza have gained a clear understanding of what families truly need—belonging, support, and meaningful access to learning opportunities. This inspired their commitment to growing TeachMe,LB’s programs, spaces, and reach.

As a Vice President at Helm Group, Dave provides executive oversight for the commercial construction division based in Westmont, Illinois. With him, he brings invaluable leadership and operational expertise to the board.
Greg Strom

Director of Business Strategy & Compliance
Greg is a seasoned strategy and operations executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience spanning retail, digital platforms, and large-scale infrastructure development. He previously led eCommerce and marketing initiatives for ALDI and currently oversees strategy and operations at Karis Critical, where he focuses on data center and real estate development.
Greg provides strategic business insight and governance support, helping ensure responsible growth, strong compliance, and long-term organizational stewardship.
